Clouds drop precipitation as snow in this valley that is the classic Yosemite experience. This clip is the continuation of a clip from Day. Trees, appearing at first glance to be following the clouds up the snowy slopes, cover much of the left frame. A giant monolith, partially covered in mist, appears in the left third, indescribable. A sheer rock face on the right is acting as a blocker for clouds. Farther away, another sheer cliff face is appearing to hold back the cloud flow, all this on a winter landscape.

A third of the frame consists of fresh snow. Young pines grow in the cold arctic environment. Overhead, the dusk sky has a mid-level of stratus that moves off to the right as blue hour occurs late in the clip. The sky begins mostly cloudy and ends mostly clear.

…or a sunset on snowy bright mountains. The moon rising sends enough alpenglow to the mountainsides to brighten them like a sunrise. The stars overhead in the top half of the frame wheel around as the Earth spins at night.

Mount Rainier with light clouds on its southern face

A majestic mountain, Mt Rainier has a batch of Cumulus clouds on two flanks this sunny morning. Shadows from them moving over the snow. These are their normal altitudes. The dormant volcano rears up above the alpine, snowy meadow of the foreground. The clouds find the mountain insurmountable, and minuscule cars are seen in the middle of the frame, adding slightly to the interest. A three second interval is used.

Day to night to dawn on Mt Shasta in winter

Changing from day to night on the east flank of Mt Shasta, the clouds rapidly change and darken to the night. The stars seem to spin around as the Earth rotates and the sky brightens to morning, light once again on the snow.

Moving behind the trees to night, the filtered light is caught on the delicate frost to glow in the physically still but temporally altered to enhance the movement of the light colors and angles on the winter forest.
