Bright Cantaloupe highlights in the bright precipitation of these stratus clouds, and Halloween orange colors on the fading rain at right of the frame. Silhouetted bare ridges in the lower quarter, under these clouds that darken in as time progresses, the open sky a perfect Mid-blue.

…at dusk on Mt Tamalpais as sunset passes by. Stratocumulus clouds stretch for miles far below the serene meadow hills with creeping, windblown trees. The open sky is a ‘Hoki’ color, or a dusty-blue, and the horizon is a mix of Dusky Rose and Pale Oranges that make up the quarter of the frame. California sage brush, Chaparral, and Oaks are the main types of trees and shrubs shown.

The sunrise is displayed on Grand Canyon, light slowly brightening. The clouds above in the shifting sunlight transform wildly in the new light, and then gradually lose previous semblance of color. Instead of being lit from below, the clouds above are lit from above shortly after dawn. The desert canyon vista that stretches many miles is eventually illuminated like any other day.

The mid-level clouds above Grand Tetons in the sunlight at dusk. The hill in between mountains and foreground is shadowed as the sun sets. The very sharp peaks of the range become silhouetted. A three second interval is used.

Light rays at sunset. Crepuscular rays fall from high humidity on mountaintops. The sun glows on the clouds as it sets behind Mt Whitney and the mountain ridge. The middle and background dims.
