… in Waimea Canyon in Kauai, Hawaii. Reds and greens like nowhere else. This old volcanic area has very young volcanic and erosion features. The jungle is everywhere soils can accumulate. Waterfalls and countless rock steps are throughout. The shadows are variable in their contrast and dimness. The clouds overhead are low and smoothly flowing, covering about half of the sky.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
29 seconds and 23 frames.
The passing fog varies in its ceiling; the light is not pulsating, but the fog layer is changing. The orange colors are naturally glowing on the radiant intensity of the sun, where shadows are cast, the fog is not illuminated.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
11 seconds and 18 frames.
Last of a series of clips in this scene, the sunlight leaves the view under the horizon, with small sunbeams defined by clouds on the horizon. Gold and glowing, mid-level clouds are brilliantly lit, and under them, the lower-level rain clouds are scattering over the headlands. The ocean is the lower quarter of the frame, and waves are observed on the beach. They’re ignited in reflected light under the ambient light of the sky. The sand of the beach is a space in the corner.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
3 seconds and 11 frames.
…with city lights behind, aircraft taking off into the sky. An observer on the Marin Headlands sees much of the city from one view, where the bay enters the ocean in the other direction. Spanning the bay is the bridge, cars speeding along as they always do. As night falls, the lights glow reddish, the blues of blue hour change, and the airplanes take off in the sky, which comprises about a sixth of the frame. Ships are seen coming through the bridge and leaving, such as a tugboat escorting a cargo ship.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
24 seconds and 8 frames.
Details of flame-shaped clouds at sunset with the blue-purples of higher clouds on the layer above. The castle shaped clouds glow amber, gold-yellow and pink in the light, in this cloudy skyscape.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
6 seconds and 9 frames.
From Twin Peaks, San Francisco is shown, with Castro and Market roads heading directly into the city. The sky is cloudless as the lights come out (cross-faded).
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
35 seconds and 12 frames.
