Altocumulus Castellanus are here in the top half of the frame at sunset. Being brilliantly shined upon, they range in color from Grapefruit to shades of pale pink and sharp purple, and the clear areas of sky remain blue, comprising two thirds of the sky. The bottom half has Lake Tahoe, a boat makes an inquisitive entrance and exit, and the water moves with gentle, lapping waves. The other side of the expansive lake is the east sky, with more clouds the further observed.

… and river flowing below at sunset with traffic. Along the Sacramento River is downtown Sacramento’s skyline, its distinctive yellow tower bridge spanning the river at sunset facing east, the UAS moves laterally and backwards as cloud colors fade after the sun has set.

The scientific adage of ‘what goes up, must come down’ rings true in this scene where, at right, lower-level clouds rise in convection. Over this ridgeline, there are pockets of air that fall through the cloud as cold patches, creating these distinctive looking clouds. While the dire, dark gray, bizarre looking ‘mammatus’ are this size only 30-40000 ft and attached to monstrous storms, these are clearly harmless clouds.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
7 seconds and 15 frames.
Filling the sky at dawn are Cirrocumulus clouds. Out of the frame and over the horizon, other clouds block out the light in the second half of the clip. Grapefruit colors and pinks shine on the upper-level clouds as a one second interval is used to create a longer clip.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
32 seconds and 8 frames.
…Colorful, peak light, magic clouds looking northwest in Banff. The sunrise over Banff National Park. Lower clouds and the sharp peaks of the mountains on the left of the frame are first to be very brightly illuminated.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
8 seconds and 17 frames.
From a unique viewpoint on Yerba Buena island, the Bay Bridge has two directions of traffic on different levels, and is a gateway into the city. The skyline is silhouetted on the evening light. The daylight is left with the sun and transitions to night, and thousands of cars and vehicles pass through the bridge during this time.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
13 seconds and 10 frames.
Sunset with pink clouds rapidly changes to blue hour and nighttime, a huge boulder field is silhouetted on the sky, which has high clouds that evaporate in the night quickly.

20 seconds and 24 frames.
