Sorted by cloud types
Clouds of Day:
Cumulus & similar clouds
Fog layers as well as bridges
Lenticular clouds, lens-like
Thunderstorms, cumulonimbus and rain
The most dangerous cloud – the disastrous force known as the tornado is always attached to one – they are also the most breathtaking in clear conditions, where water can be seen rising in vast quantities in the sunshine, resembling some sort of massive cauliflower or mushroom growing. Ground heating, which is heating from the sun on the Earth, can be a strong factor in supercell formation, where they grow to terrific sizes and viciousness over the Great Plains in the American Mid-west. Many photographers and storm chasers have lost their lives in their pursuit. [code_snippet id=40]
Towering Clouds
Clouds that make no rain but climb taller than their base width are called ‘cumulus congestus clouds, their next stage would be producing measurable rain that reaches the ground- in this stage, the heating of the day drives water molecules upwards. You can also go back to the smaller ‘Lower fluffy clouds’ or ‘Mixed clouds’ in the same category. Don’t forget, there are clouds like these in the Dawn and Dusk category as well! [code_snippet id=67]
