From a point in Grand Canyon, the horizon may be level, but the land isn’t; this is owed to the nature of the geography of the surroundings of the National park. The bright object illuminating the landscape is not the sun, but the moon. A long exposure captures the light for a period of time to greatly intensify the brightness of the scene in comparison to the human eye. Smoke wafts in the canyon from a wildfire.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
32 seconds and 8 frames.
Many mature Crocus plants with their flowers in bloom, purple, and following the small creek which comes through the composition far to near. Many meadow trees are spaced well apart, until the clearing beyond, and more woods. The grasses cover the terrain as the camera pans left to mossy trees and more flowers.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
8 seconds and 21 frames.
Sectioned by four ridges of hills, forests, fog flows into the empty areas. There is a definite liquid-like quality to the fog’s movement. Visibility is very clear, and the distant coast range is visible. Beyond that, the ocean, from where this fog came.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
12 seconds and 2 frames.
A diagonally-oriented cloud formation stretches across the frame as higher clouds also meander overhead. On the landscape, a turret-shaped boulder and other oddly-shaped formations (right). Playback length (at 30 fps): 4 seconds and 22 frames.
Precipitation is seen flowing over the mountain slopes as cloud shadows brighten the foreground and middle-distance desert landscape on and off. Patches of blue-sky peek through mixed cloud levels.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
4 seconds and 20 frames.
