Another similar scene to Day111A, an ocean view looking on the Miami skyline from the east. Groups of taller, late-afternoon clouds, tilting towards their direction of wind, as if italicized and colorful, dwarf the tallest buildings, which are reflected on the calm waters of the bay. A three second interval is used. The clouds’ lighter colors are Fawn to Lime Oak.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
10 seconds and 18 frames.
A shallow and calm beach typical of the Gulf, three quarters of the frame is ocean with building tropical clouds in the distance, about one sixth of the frame, under a blue sky in the remaining six. A distant tree line far on the beach with tropical trees and signs of people on the left. Fine details of the ripples of sand under the clear water with caustic lights on the floor, the water is aquamarine up-close. 30 fps Time-lapse length:10 seconds, 22 frames
Slowly panning on distant mountain background with Mt Seymour mountain. North of Vancouver, the view is under building lower-level clouds. In the lower valley behind some trees, downtown Vancouver can be seen, as can a rotating construction crane, far in the distance at lower-right. A three second interval, the sky is about one tenth blue at times. Significant uplift from wind on Mt Seymour drives these clouds. This is called the orographic effect.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
16 seconds and 14 frames.
Expanse of meadows and fields under morning clouds in Strokkur, Iceland. The formation of lower clouds on the medium to heavy side play over the flat interior of the expansive plains below. Many small and medium-sized vents spout steam regularly, with a larger spouting from a vent midway through playback. The cloud shadows of the morning shift quickly on the green fields and trees that are close by.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
11 seconds and 10 frames.
…builds in the early day’s blue sky. A rock feature of sharp relief on the far left of the frame borders the foothills of the mountains, where Pike’s Peak is fully cloaked in growing lower clouds. A hazy morning near noon, the near landscape is cultivated greenery and roadways with signs of people walking around. The far view shows green forests and hills spanning into a cloudy horizon in Colorado.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
11 seconds.
Altocumulus Castellanus are here in the top half of the frame at sunset. Being brilliantly shined upon, they range in color from Grapefruit to shades of pale pink and sharp purple, and the clear areas of sky remain blue, comprising two thirds of the sky. The bottom half has Lake Tahoe, a boat makes an inquisitive entrance and exit, and the water moves with gentle, lapping waves. The other side of the expansive lake is the east sky, with more clouds the further observed.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
9 seconds and 9 frames.
… by bridges in the downtown with land water traffic. Historic Zurich, many types of public transport are displayed, and high foot traffic is displayed across the river on the street which spans much of the frame. Many buildings amongst European alders and elms are displayed. Recently, a Swiss study has indicated more trees in cities would save thousands of lives in future heat waves.
