Convection is when a thunderstorm or cumulonimbus begins, which produces rain. So much cumuliform on such a larger cloud at left is indicative of one.

Another similar scene to Day111A, an ocean view looking on the Miami skyline from the east. Groups of taller, late-afternoon clouds, tilting towards their direction of wind, as if italicized and colorful, dwarf the tallest buildings, which are reflected on the calm waters of the bay. A three second interval is used. The clouds’ lighter colors are Fawn to Lime Oak.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
10 seconds and 18 frames.
To preserve the beach itself, the name is not shared here. Above the jungle peaks, the clouds over the Napali coastline drop enough rain at the distance needed to produce a partial rainbow, which is a full half to double rainbow in another clip; that specific clip can be found by clicking the ‘rainbow’ tag on this page. This is a clip with SKU# DSK146 that is categorized in the ‘Day’ collection.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
8 seconds and 29 frames.
…light shafts shine momentarily on congestus afternoon clouds in the late afternoon, by a pond and a typical wetland in Oregon. The clouds are outlined by the sun, with some sunbeams being defined by the shifting cloud shapes, which are lifting and meandering on slow or still wind. A higher layer is less influenced by the heating of the ground.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
15 seconds and 15 frames.
Cumulus at dusk on peaks and overhead. While the sun has set behind the mountains because of their height, actual sunset has not occurred, so the clouds’ are not brightly lit with reds. The continuation of another clip. The camera’s orientation and position has been adjusted.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
7 seconds and 25 frames.
A three second interval is used for short timespan clips such as these. If not for the steep slopes of the valley cliffs, cloaked partly in dense winter fog, this scene could be reminiscent of many northern climates. The cerulean late afternoon sky is unobscured along much of the top third of the frame, but the clouds are moving everywhere.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
11 seconds and 3 frames.
… under some very light transforming clouds and shade. North of Yosemite Valley is the highway to connect to the other side of the state. This Tioga Pass Road is closed much of the year due to snowfall. The snowy landscape vista stretches out to Mt Lyell of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range, which passes through the National Park.
Time-lapse length (30 fps):
14 seconds and 2 frames.
