  • Half-frozen Tioga Lake view of Mt Lyell…

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

… under some very light transforming clouds and shade. North of Yosemite Valley is the highway to connect to the other side of the state. This Tioga Pass Road is closed much of the year due to snowfall. The snowy landscape vista stretches out to Mt Lyell of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range, which passes through the National Park.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    14 seconds and 2 frames.

  • Floating parallel to shore of the Pacific Ocean…

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

… with waves flowing on rocks below. Cerulean sky above, the ocean below as we are over the water. The headlands of the coast are clear at points, as are the stones that make the shore so rocky. At about 300ft (or 100m) altitude, waves look small as they crash below. The deep blue see stretches into the north where the fog is already gone from the daylight heating, but the landscape makes fog formation here more likely.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    12 seconds and 12 frames.

  • Floating to monoliths on the Pacific Ocean shore…

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

… with waves flowing on rocks below. The UAS moves towards a monolith among an outcrop of stone and shallow beach waves. A full motion clip with no interval of photos. Just beyond the monolith is a fog bank that is slowly moving towards the camera, with smaller wisps moving over the rocky shore.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    1 minute, 6 seconds and 17 frames.

  • Floating over the Pacific Ocean shore with waves flowing on rocks below

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Moving south, the UAV points down to a broken fog bank, which is breaking on the rocky shore from beyond. Glistening far below, waves move towards the headlands and rocky outcrops. White foam on the rockiest areas as well as further out where the waves break.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    37 seconds and 6 frames.

  • Late day clouds over Miami 2 of 2

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

An ocean view looking on the Miami skyline from the east. Groups of taller, late-afternoon clouds, tilting towards their direction of wind, italicized and colorful, dwarf the tallest buildings, which are reflected on the calm waters of the bay. A three second interval is used. The clouds’ lighter colors are Fawn to Lime Oak.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    10 seconds and 18 frames.

  • 3 of 3 | Shifting, dark snowy rain clouds on vast lake

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Wind on water is visible throughout this frame. Strong gusts push the water chaotically on the surface of the vast, deep volcanic caldera. So much freshwater fills this vast crater that it is one of the deepest lakes in the world, the lake spans well outside the viewing angle of this POV. After days of solitude and nothing but clouds, light shafts eventually peak through the cloud and snowfall to brightly illuminate sections of water next to Wizard Hat Island.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    17 seconds and 5 frames.

  • 2 of 2 | Lake Tahoe at Emerald Bay with boats circling the island within

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

The continuation of another clip. The camera’s position has been moved away from the creek.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    20 seconds and 22 frames.

  • Low density clouds hovering over Mono Lake’s Tufas and blue water

    View with alternate video source

    Scene notes:

Physically panning right on Mono Lake, past a tufa tower to the lake’s blue water with clouds moving overhead, a desert landscape in the distance.
    Time-lapse length (30 fps):
    6 seconds and 4 frames.
