About This Portfolio

The users of SkyTimelapse.com, the home of all my footage over the years, have been many; I am still able to share ‘proving data’ that I have maintained since the 2000s.

During my independent study at OSU (where I earned my BA this last March of 2025 and I graduated Magna Cum Laude), I re-iterated this site for a better general user experience—not customer experience. The reason was strategic and also for time management: as a time expenditure, it is better to not maintain the WooCommerce platform during this period. Instead, those who would choose to purchase a license may still do so using the scripting and a simple payment/transaction provider embedded into each individual clip page.

To understand the life cycle this site had, it is important to keep in mind the year of the 2000s, especially 2005-06. Earned media (e.g., inbound links) was more valuable than social. Search traffic, both paid and organic, was more feasibly obtained. There was a more flourishing stock footage industry, even with the very beginning of microstock houses that undercut everyone.
