1 of 3 | Facing west at sunset from a viewpoint of light rays through darker clouds slowly shifting
Intervalometry notes: In between weeks of nothing but clouds, a few moments of clear daylight lead to this in the late afternoon. Because of the bright highlights on the fringes of the heavy cumulus clouds that are sun-exposed, shorter exposure is used. In brighter exposures, areas of light appears to have a ‘halation’ effect, but are not. Additionally, while effects that synthetically generate light rays out of ‘thin air’ are available in video editing applications, no clips on this site use those artificial effects for sunlight effects.
