Intervalometry notes: Birth of a cumulonimbus, a rising congestus carrying enough moisture to darken and sprout rain while it grows nearer. This examplar of a congestus, a towering cumulus cloud that has not become a nimbus, reaches higher and higher into the sky until the day has become cloudy with a high chance of precipitation. Often other low stratus clouds obscure clouds like this, but they are quite common.
