Colorado mountains and red rocks

Featured in this category, Pike’s Peak is the 2nd tallest mountain in the U.S. that can be driven to the very top, which has a 360-degree view. It happens to be just a few miles from the sandstone structures of the park called The Garden Of The Gods far below, with flower-strewn meadows and park space all around the red rocks.

Here, all sorts of weather events are likely: high winds and beautiful spring days, freezing cold and snowy winters, and random thunderstorms in the summer; any type of sunset is possible around here.

Further to the north, Rocky Mountain National Park has majestic green meadows and a very high pass, which happens to be the highest in the country and starts just 90 minutes outside the city of Denver.
